Why Conker should not get a sequel

You're probably all thinking that I'm not being myself right now, but I'm normal, I'm just going to explain to you all why it's probably best we should NOT have a Conker 2.

1. The ending to BFD; the ending was brilliant and the last line made the game, why make a sequel when the ending was enough for us?

2. Chris himself; remember when Chris left Rare in 2011? How can you make a Conker 2 without Chris's involvement? Without Chris on board, don't bother.

3. The Kinect; what the hell can you do with Conker and the Kinect? Shove Conker into doing party games? No thanks.

4. The humor; now the humor in BFD was lewd, but down right hilarious, I would guess if they made a Conker 2; it would have a lot of unfunny jokes, and forced pop culture references, like most comedy sequels, this usually isn't a good idea.

5. Lack of quality; Chris had a style when he made BFD, one that could only be done ONCE, trying to do it again will only result it in being panned by fans, like other video game cult classics, it's best to just leave BFD alone, people keep begging for a sequel to a cult classic, but it's best for the cult classic to just be left alone and let people enjoy what this game was.

6. Controversy; BFD suffered from poor sales and controversy back in the day, L&R also suffered from controversy due to heavy censoring, and Conker 2 would probably also suffer from controversy, why should they risk it? Don't even try...

I hope you all understand and get my point, fansite ''RareFandaBase'' even made an article called ''Why Rare Should Never Touch Conker Again'', explaining what I just explained above.

I think it's best that a Conker sequel should not happen and we can just enjoy the original for how it was supposed to be.

EXTRA NOTE: Besides; Microsoft would probably can the sequel....again, and Chris (no longer at Rare) would criticize the game.

EXTRA EXTRA NOTE: If a sequel was to happen, it would either just be a remake of the original (in it's original style, not like L&R), or about the Milk Wars, where you would probably use Kinect controls to use guns. But my main guess is that Microsoft would immediately can the sequel, pretty much like Nintendo, as they don't want another game like Conker. To those who think Chris will buy the rights to Conker, highly doubt it; Chris is not interested in obtaining the Conker rights (which is probably why he's doing a Director's Commentary on BFD) and Microsoft would very likely say ''No'' Also, Chris is very busy working on his own ideas for the Wii U, such as Rusty Pup, and a few of his original ideas, maybe even a Parashoot Stan port.

All valid points there. I'm highly against the idea of a sequel as well. Furthermore, a sequel will only hurt the reputation and fun factor of the original Bad Fur Day. They better NOT think about doing it.

Also adding, with that interview Chris did, he said that a new Conker game would be impossible.

If they did make another Conker game; it'll either be for XBLA, or a spin-off about the SHC & the Tediz and how the war came to be.

Everyone keeps saying that they want a Conker 2, but I don't think there should be one, Conker already got damaged when L&R came out.

Then why does everyone keep bothering him about it if they already know it's not gonna happen? Maybe people thinks; ''if we beg enough for a Conker 2, we'll get it!!'' I'm sorry fellas, but that's not gonna work. And starting petitions for it won't work either.

People have got to realize; Chris has moved on, and now leads his own company, hopefully soon to be planning a revival of Urchin as well. He doesn't even want to make the sequel. Also, he no longer has the rights to Conker, as Microsoft now owns the IP.

I don't think a sequel to Conker will do any well. We have the original CBFD, and I think it's good enough. Why bother with getting a sequel that's likely only going to damage Conker even more?

What we have of the sequel though are the following; the plot, concept drawings of a level or two, and some mention of experiments with a rough game prototype. I think that's about all there was to it, but I'm fine with those things alone. There's no need for a sequel to be made. The ending of CBFD really showed that there wasn't going to be anything more after that game.

Conker saying a phrase that perfectly ends the game is all I need, the sequel's been cancelled; Chris is no longer at Rare, just leave him be.

Yeah, I don't think we need any more answers regarding Conker 2. If we weren't talking between ourselves now, then this thread would surely be filled with all sorts of hype/hate over the sequel.

Pity that we can't advertise here on our own forum. But I'll get to do some more advertising stuff, like a banner, image, or a video more about the forum, and spread them around like hell over the net. We seriously do need more going on here. A bit difficult when there's not enough people around.

I was first thinking about trying Gamefaqs, but I came to think about how it went for the Medievil Boards back when that forum had it's rough start(yep, I'm a member there now as well.), so I nixed that idea of mine.

Maybe I'll better bring back the topic about it on RWC, and also ask viki if she'd like to sign up again(like, give her a second chance). It would be really great to have her here.

I had the thought about a game focused on Milk Wars with SHC against Tediz, like L&R multiplayer. I think that'd be amazing.

I remember Chris had an idea about the sequel being all about the Milk Wars; the only thing I don't like about it is that he had plans to kill Conker off.

Well, having Conker killed off in the beginning of the game wouldn't really hit home with the fans I guess. I'm glad that didn't happen though.

I think one of the other reasons why there shouldn't be a sequel is that it would not only be very painful to get through, but also it would contract every writer's dreams of their own fanmade sequels.

Possibly. I'm still against the idea of microsoft(or Rare even) bothering with touching Conker again, and I still hold true to what I said earlier. If it were made though, I would be quite interested in hearing Chris' opinions about it.
